CAV Producer

If your primary interest is the production and sale of CAVs, here are some things to look for on this website:
CAV standards will emerge from (system) engineering of CAV Systems, through public and private sector cooperation, and observe three primary guidelines:
  1. CAVWAY access will be restricted to CAVs which meet the standards of the states in which they operate;
  2. CAVs will be developed for use in the context of CAV Systems, to meet functional standards and observe common operating protocols; and
  3. CAVs must be capable of operating under normal CAVWAY conditions (CAVWAYs will restore abnormal - hazardous - conditions to normal).
Certification processes, developed to assure that CAVs meet the standards, will open the CAV market to a broad sector of vehicle and instrumentation providers because all CAV providers will be subject to the same stable set of certification criteria (standards).
Opportunity will be open to providers to distinguish their products with respect to classic customer measures: quality; cost; and convenience.

Regarding CAV standards, look at general system-engineering requirements and then look at CAV functional requirements.

The separation of requirements between CAVs and CAVWAYs is discussed under Roadway Conditions.

Opportunities in the instrumentation market are likely to fall to those who engage in the transition process.

Other opinions

Assertion: As a R&D engineer in the field of autonomous vehicles, it seems to me that you and your fake god are devaluing all the work we have done to show that CAVs can operate today both in cities and highways, in the presence of human drivers. How can I take you seriously?
Response: Let's make three things clear. First, Davius values the work that you and your fellow engineers have done to prove such concepts as sensing, situation recognition, lane-keeping, dual-mode operation, and others.
Second, even so, CAVs cannot be proven to operate according to safety-critical guidelines in the presence of human drivers or in the absence of common CAV protocols.
Third, Davius is anything but fake. He will be guiding transport engineers throughout our millennium and beyond. Three pieces of evidence - past, present, and future, all touched by Davius - may help to reassure those of little faith: the durability of Roman roads; the rebirth of durable roads in the New World; and CAV Systems, opening a transportation era in the tradition of Roman roads.
