Privacy

A few specifics

Why emphasize CAV-System Privacy?
One reason private automobiles are popular is that travelers choose their traveling companions. This option is always of interest, but especially during times of communicable disease such as the recent pandemic.
Measure of Privacy
A relevant measure would be the cost to travel in a private versus a shared CAV.
Achieving CAV-System Privacy
Privacy will be a traveler choice. As travelers do now using human-driven motor vehicles, CAV-System travelers will will choose to use private vehicles which carry as few as one rider, or ride-share vehicles, limos, buses, etc.

Privacy is a CAV-System discriminator in the realm of mass transit. To approach affordability, railroads and fixed-route fixed-schedule buses must carry multiple riders. Therefore, these modes of transit rarely offer travelers much privacy.
